This book is one of my proudest accomplishments because it almost killed me trying to write it. The only time I could get it done was after I’d put all 3 kids to bed and settled into the study and by then my brain felt like scrambled eggs. But alas, over the course of almost a year, a few menty B’s, some tears, lots of laughs and far too many late nights, I got it done.
Strap Yourself In – A memoir of motherhood, dancefloors and all the mayhem in between!
It’s a laugh-out-loud, deeply relatable memoir challenging our unrealistic expectations of motherhood and life written from my lived-in experiences!
In a world full of highly curated Instagram feeds and totally unrealistic expectations of motherhood, I’m here to be a breath of fresh air. I don’t sugarcoat the fact that life with my husband and three small children (aka tiny bosses) is a full-blown chaotic rollercoaster. Seatbelts absolutely required.
But I’ve learned that life rarely turns out the way we expect it to, and it’s so much more helpful (and honestly, more fun) to embrace the warts-and-all beauty, pain, and hilarity of it all. From birth and parenting to marriage and friendship, sex and holidays to family and careers,I dive into the wildly hopeful expectations I once had, and I’m brutally honest about how reality came along and unravelled them.
This is for all the mums (or anyone, really) who’ve ever looked at an Instagram post and felt like they were falling short. I hope this memoir makes you laugh out loud and reminds you to stop, smell the roses, and appreciate the wonderfully messy life you’ve got.
She’s perfectly paired with a nice sunny holiday with a cocktail in hand!
